Is it worth the energy ?

Sometimes caring for yourself takes energy.

I find it is easier to run on an empty tank than to stop and have the crash overwhelm you.

Keeping up with the constant activities so we don’t make space for the mind and body to realise we must take a break and replenish. It is easier to carry on, we will take care and sustain our selves later.

But when later comes, we are past the need for sustenance and the mind now seeks to block out everything and disconnect. No energy to cook a good meal, no energy to care for your body, no energy to read, pray or practice what makes us happy and fulfilled.

In our world, what would happen if we stopped for a moment to care, to love, to listen to our bodies and overworked spirits?
I think we have been led to believe that if we stop and disappear for a second or two, we cease to exist and have lost all value in the eyes of our society.  Now, self care has become another form of branding and way to capitalise. The capitalist consumerism system is evolving and is doing the best it can to hang on and be the only one to rely on.

Self care has become something one must earn, a privilege, while it is actually survival. Our ancestors celebrated every new day on this Earth and awakening to a new one would be a success and blessing in the hostile environment they lived in. Some may argue that even through our process of evolution, hostile conditions still remain and I would agree with that. Most of humanity is still reliving trauma and is perpetuating that fear storyline.

Self Care = Survival = Success

How can one live, if one’s survival needs are not being met?

How can one function and process all that is going on when one doesn’t have the inner space and resources to do so?

Let’s normalise disappearing for a bit to recharge, process and de-stress.

We have to accept ourselves in the state we are in and move with compassion from there. Only we are able to set up the boundaries and show up to create harmony and flow in our lives.

We have the power and responsibility to show up for ourselves and co-create a reality of love and trust. It all starts within each of us.

Meet your body, mind and Spirit where they are at each moment.

We must trust that our value is not

dependent on our online and social presence or what we produce.

The very act of being and witnessing

all that unfolds around us is good enough.
